INSIGHTS FROM MY ADVENTURE BUDDIES/FOSTERS:
"Shawndale is just the best! So much energy but loves to cuddle and get all the head scratches. Perfect on walks (even concerned when I almost slipped), and knows come and sit. Just the best! Maybe wouldn’t recommend for young kids at this point (his energy may be overwhelming), but would be perfect for everyone else! He truly never met a stranger."
Shawdale's friends also report that he seems like he might be great with other dogs and cats - but slow, monitored introductions to any pets will be needed.

"Such a good pup! He still has quite a bit of puppy energy but is a pretty good listener. Walks great, only pulls when we go past other dogs. Came across some deer on our hike and he seemed curious but did not bark or pull hard to chase. Also seems very content to spend time just chilling next to you for pets. Very relaxed in the car, no issues getting in and out. Explored the yard a bit on his own, but mostly just wanted to hang by my side all day. You can tell he'll make the most loyal dog. Did not want to leave my side all day - like a little shadow!"

"He is very chill. Interact with strangers' family and being friendly with all ages from child to adult. Does not tug on the leash. Only one time he suddenly starts to bite the leash, but start doing after being distracted by treat. Very well mannered in the car backseat. Doesn't bark. Great companion in the car, great at walking, energetic!"

"Shawndale is super friendly and well-behaved. He is house trained and leash trained. We took Shawndale out for a walk in our neighborhood; several dogs barked at him, but he did not bark back. He was interested in saying hello, but didn’t pull on the leash. We took him home and played with a few toys. He went in the backyard for a bit and was not reactive when a neighbor’s dog barked at him. He then went down for a nap. Shawndale is a very HANDSOME doggy! He loves treats and will show all the commands he knows when we have treats on hand. He is great in the car, but I have this sense that he does not love it."

Shawndale was a perfect Dog Day Out pet. He did amazing in the car and was very excited to eat his pup cup at the end of our hike. He showed no aggression towards other people/dogs on our walk but was very excited to try to meet them. Let’s just say Shawndale will listen to anything you say… if you have a treat in your hand :) I think he would be a great addition to any family and for his age he has a shockingly calm demeanor. We went on an hour long hike and ended the trip with a pup cup from starbucks!"

"Shawndale is a lovely, playful boy who loves to cuddle! He took a while to settle down after we got my apartment and seemed excited at being in a new place. He wasn’t super interested in toys or treats, just seemed to want attention and to play. He eventually settled down on the sofa next to me and was calm for the rest of the day. We took a few walks. He walks well on a leash- minimal pulling and friendly to people and other dogs. He let me know when he wanted to go out by coming over and nuzzling me. He loves scratches and cuddles, and after settling in seemed pretty mellow! He's a little gentleman!"

"He is very chill but up for fun! I like that he is friendly but not too eager. He walks great. He is super cute wagging his tail. He is NOT a licker! The likes pets and is game for whatever. Very mellow, not a jumper or barker. We went for a walk/hike. We jogged for just a little bit and he did fine. He was alert and interested to see new people or dogs but didn't pull hard or bark. We met one dog and Shawndale wanted to play with him- still no barks. He doesnt pull on the leash. I took him by a creek, he was not interested in getting in. His ear flapping while walking is cute. He was great in the car, he sat and was patient. He wasn't anxious at all and stayed in the backseat. He is pretty chill and does NOT lick (which is a really good thing!!) He is friendly but not velcro, fairly independent. He rode in the car like a champ."
