Insights from my adventure buddies and foster friends:
We had the pleasure of fostering Razzie for two nights, and he is such a wonderful dog. He is fully house-trained, very quiet, and sleeps like a log—the only noise we heard from him was some gentle snoring at night.
Razzie loves walks and is happy to go anywhere from one to at least three miles, whether in the sun or rain (we got caught in a thunderstorm and he was completely unfazed). While he doesn't bark or whine to go outside, he will put one front paw out and gently jump up when you take it. He gets extremely excited when you head toward his harness or leash. On walks, he is an active sniffer who enjoys exploring new routes while keeping a good pace. He is alert around other dogs but does not get overly excited.
Although we have a "no dogs on the bed" rule, Razzie was the exception! He wouldn't settle on the floor in a dogbed, but once allowed on our bed, he slept soundly through the night without moving much at all.
While he was initially hesitant about going up the interior stairs of our house, a little verbal encouragement and pets gave him the confidence he needed. He can be startled by approaching him from behind, and seems a bit nervous at times or when you have strange objects in your hand. However, he quickly trusts people and loves affection, pets, and belly rubs. He would benefit from a safe home and some basic command training (sit, stay, lay down). Such an amazing dog!
Razzie did great on our Dog Day Out! Very calm dog that didnt react to much on his day out (other people, dogs, animals, and noises). He was pretty hesitant to get in the car but was very calm while driving. Pulled at the leash a little bit and was super interested in all the smells along his walk.
Razzie is a friendly, happy little dude. He was excited to get the adventure started! He does not like to get in the car by himself, but accepts your assistance easily. Once in the car he’s a good passenger. He was curious to start, but settled nicely. He enjoyed our walk around the neighborhood. He only pulled on the leash a couple of times when he was trying to check out some amazing smells. Overall, he walked well on leash but of course could perfect it with someone willing to work with him. Razzie seems to really enjoy his treats! He takes them gently and is eager for another. He was not crazy about getting a bath, but he was a very good boy throughout. He absolutely loved his pup cup! We started with a long walk around the neighborhood, followed by a frozen PB Kong. He was a big fan of both. I gave him a bath, which he wasn’t crazy about. But he was a very good boy for it. For being the very best boy I got him a pup cup and a toy. On our ride back to drop him off, he fell asleep in the car. Razzie is a sweet pup with a gentle, friendly demeanor. He would make an amazing companion and is so deserving of a loving home. I hope it comes soon for him.
