Bio:
Name: Lexie Age: 2 years
Breed: DSH Sex: Spayed female
Colour: Tabby Size: 6.87 kg
From my foster: Lexie is a cat that takes her time to trust, but once she is comfortable with you, she loves cuddles, play time and pets. Lexie is incredibly sweet with visitors, and wants to always say hi.
The staff at the OHS call me a Star! Stars tend to be self-starters and like to spend part of their day on independent activities, like exploring every nook and cranny of your home! They also enjoy time with their family, but usually on their own terms. Their favourite family activities may include playing with engaging toys, participating in fun training games, or curling up for a nap somewhere close by. Stars are usually pretty resourceful and like to figure out how things work, so they benefit from places to explore and perches near windows. Stars may also be good candidates for harness training and leash walks outdoors! If you're looking for an entertainer with loads of personality, a Star might just be the purrfect match for you!
I have had some trouble cleaning my back end which has led to some skin irritation. I will benefit from a veterinary weight loss plan which may improve my ability to groom. My conformation may continue to predispose me to skin issues around the back end even with weight loss. I may need some help to make sure my hind end stays clean. It is possible I may need veterinary care if I develop skin irritation in the future.
I am looking for a home without children under 10 years of age as I prefer to be handled on my terms.
I am overweight, and I will need a veterinarian to oversee my weight loss plan to make sure I lose weight safely. I may need a prescription veterinary diet and regular veterinarian visits to follow my progress.
I am currently relaxing in a foster home as I wait for my forever family. Please contact an adoptions staff to book an appointment to meet me!
If you are interested in setting up an appointment to adopt me, please complete an adoption application at https://ottawahumane.ca/adopt/adoption-application/. Please be advised that although we do offer on-the-spot-adoptions, this is dependent on appointment schedules and cannot be guaranteed.
