A268353

On Hold: Adoption Pending
Description: Thank you for visiting my profile! My name is Rihanna.
More Info: I was brought to the shelter as a stray but am now available for adoption. If you think this animal is your lost pet, please contact the OHS Customer Service Supervisor at 613-725-3166 or cssupervisor@ottawahumane.ca.

Bio:
Name: Rihanna Age: 1 Year 5 Months
Breed: Rex Sex: Spayed Female
Colour: Black Size: 3.76kg
My foster family says: "Rihanna is sugar and spice and everything nice. She has a big personality and loves to run around. At first she was a little shy but has warmed up and enjoys coming to say hi. She doesn't love getting picked up, but she will hangout for pets, and will melt into the floor for as long as you're willing to pet her. With her big personality, she may not be a great match for small or inexperienced hands."

Rabbits are intelligent, social animals. When given plenty of attention, they make affectionate and rewarding family pets. Rabbits need ample daily exercise outside the cage to stay healthy and fit. The bottom of my feet should be monitored in my new home and I will need to be maintained on proper and clean bedding in my new home.

VETERINARY ASSISTED WEIGHT LOSS - This rabbit came to the Ottawa Humane Society with a higher-than-normal body condition score (he/she is very overweight). She/he is at risk for conditions such as trouble with mobility, difficulty grooming leading to matting and possible skin conditions, degenerative joint disease, and other health problems. He/she will need to be monitored by a veterinarian to make sure that she/he loses weight safely and in a controlled way. Increased activity outside of the cage is important and can assist with weight loss. A veterinarian can monitor her/his weight with you to make sure he/she will achieve his/her weight loss goals and give guidance on feeding. Please discuss her/his weight loss with a veterinarian at the recommended post adoption check up.

I am currently relaxing in a foster home as I wait for my forever family. Please contact an adoptions staff to book an appointment to meet me!

If you are interested in setting up an appointment to adopt me, please complete an adoption application at https://ottawahumane.ca/adopt/adoption-application/. Please be advised that although we do offer on-the-spot-adoptions, this is dependent on appointment schedules and cannot be guaranteed.
