The staff at the OHS call me a Happy Homebody! Did you know that Happy Homebodies are friendly, laid back, happy to go with the flow, and only need a small amount of exercise each day to stay happy and healthy? That means you'll need to help them watch their figure! Only low-cal and healthful treats for a Happy Homebody. These happy-go-lucky pups, with their chill attitude and calm demeanor, are a fantastic addition to most families. And while they may be content to listen to the couch calling their name, Happy Homebodies still need and enjoy a daily neighbourhood stroll and fresh air. Other fun ways to help them maintain their figure include work-to-eat games like food puzzles, training games, and searching out hidden treats! If you're looking for a reliable and chill family companion, a Happy Homebody is your dog!
I have canine allergies, there is no cure and they will likely need to be managed long-term with a special hypoallergenic diet and/or perscription medication for life.
I've had recurrent/difficult-to-treat ear infections (otitis externa). Otitis externa is an inflammation or infection of the external ear canal. Recurrent/difficult-to-treat/severe ear infections are often due to underlying allergies. Veterinary care to manage recurrent ear infections can be costly. We are not sure if my ears will be a chronic problem, but as my new owner you should be prepared for this possibility.
I am looking for a non-apartment style home!
I am currently relaxing in a foster home as I wait for my forever family. Please contact an adoptions staff to book an appointment to meet me!
If you are interested in setting up an appointment to adopt me, please complete an adoption application at https://ottawahumane.ca/adopt/adoption-application/. Please be advised that although we do offer on-the-spot-adoptions, this is dependent on appointment schedules and cannot be guaranteed.
Items you must have with you:
Proof of Address
Photo ID
Collar
Animal Carrier
A leash, collar and any of your other pet supply needs can be purchased at the time of adoption. We have an excellent selection of these items in our Buddy & Belle Boutique, and proceeds from your purchases support the animals at the OHS.
