The staff at the OHS call me a Star! Stars tend to be self-starters and like to spend part of their day on independent activities, like exploring every nook and cranny of your home! They also enjoy time with their family, but usually on their own terms. Their favourite family activities may include playing with engaging toys, participating in fun training games, or curling up for a nap somewhere close by. Stars are usually pretty resourceful and like to figure out how things work, so they benefit from places to explore and perches near windows. Stars may also be good candidates for harness training and leash walks outdoors! If you're looking for an entertainer with loads of personality, a Star might just be the purrfect match for you!
I am a "Foster-Me-First" adoption. You can find more information about the Foster-Me-First Program at https://ottawahumane.ca/adopt/adoption-faq/#answer14 or call to speak to the adoption team.
Mast cells are a type of white blood cell, and are a normal part of a cat’s immune system. Occasionally a mast cell can become a tumor. This cat had a mast cell tumor of the skin (cutaneous mast cell tumor) that was surgically removed. Most mast cell tumors found on the skin of cats are benign in nature (90%), meaning surgical removal is curative. There is a small chance that this mast cell tumor could have spread internally before it was removed (metastasis). Most cats go on to live happy and healthy lives after removal of a cutaneous mast cell tumor.
I like to be handled on my own terms as I can get easily overstimulated.
I need to be in a home with kids above the age of 12.
If you are interested in setting up an appointment to adopt me, please complete an adoption application at https://ottawahumane.ca/adopt/adoption-application/. Please be advised that although we do offer on-the-spot-adoptions, this is dependent on appointment schedules and cannot be guaranteed.
