Dreamer A569716

Once upon a time, at a noisy shelter filled with barking dogs and squeaky toys, there lived a beautiful little girl named Dreamer.

Dreamer had the waggiest tail in the whole building.

Wag wag wag wag wag.

It wagged when she saw people.
It wagged when she saw grass.
It wagged when someone said “good girl.”
It even wagged when absolutely nothing was happening at all.

One sunny afternoon, a volunteer came to visit Dreamer again.

“Dreamer,” she happily yelled.

Dreamer zoomed out of her kennel with a giant smile and immediately trotted outside to go potty.

Mission accomplished.

Then came the agility course.

There were jumps.
There were little obstacles to climb.

Dreamer looked at the course very seriously.

She stepped onto one obstacle.

Then another.

The volunteer clapped. “Wow, Dreamer. You’re an athlete!”

Dreamer paused.

She thought about this very carefully.

Then she decided:

“Actually… no thank you.”

Instead, she flopped dramatically into the grass and rolled around like a happy little potato.

Roll.
Wiggle.
Scoot.
Snort.

Dreamer grinned proudly.

Why do agility training when you can become one with the grass?

After her lawn performance, Dreamer trotted over for cuddles. She loved being close to people more than anything.

And Dreamer did not simply cuddle.

No.

Dreamer slithered.

Very slowly… and very determinedly… she scooted herself directly on top of the volunteer like a furry little noodle.

“Sliiiiiide.”

Suddenly there was one entire Dreamer lying across her lap giving tiny kisses.

“Mwah.”
“Mwah.”
“Mwah.”

“You are VERY clingy,” the volunteer laughed.

Dreamer wagged harder.

This was correct.

Even though Dreamer wasn’t feeling her very best that day, she stayed sweet and happy the whole time. The volunteer made sure she would get checked by the medical team so she could feel better soon.

Because everyone who met Dreamer agreed on one important thing:

She deserved to feel amazing.

And maybe someday, in a cozy forever home with soft blankets and plenty of grass for rolling, Dreamer would find her perfect family.

A family who understood that agility courses are optional…

…but snuggles are mandatory.

The End.
