Ginko îs a total babe. He has a fan club that is rapidly growing and contains every volunteer who has ever met him. He’s not only good looking, calm in his kennel, and easy on leash, he’s also very likely house trained and is the type of dog that you know has been holding it for a very long time when you take him out. Ginko is undeterred by other dogs barking at him from nearby kennels as we head outside. He uses the bathroom immediately and repeatedly. He will squeeze every last drop out before going back inside. Ginko has greeted several other dogs through the fence of the run and has loose and playful body language, although he also gets frustrated with the fence in between and will vocalize that frustration with a couple of forlorn Arooooo’s.

Ginko had a doggy cold when I had him out so I wasn’t able to introduce him to friendly Rottie Apollo, but both boys were content to stand about 10’ apart from each other while I spoke with the other handler. Ginko is content sniffing the grass in the big run and then settling by your side to watch the clouds in the sky.

I’m telling you, this dog is a GEM - go meet him TODAY!

The shelter just started renovations to the room in which Ginko lives, and if he doesn’t find a new home this weekend, he will be moving into a crate, making his bathroom trips less frequent and his already-small living accommodations even more cramped.

If you can foster Ginko, even short term, it would make a world of difference to him. Read more information on fostering here: https://www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/departments-offices/environment/animal-services/pet-adoption/foster-information
