Truffles (A569140)
I wasn’t planning to take Truffles out, but as happens so many times, one of the caretakers expressed to me how much he loved her. I have so much respect for those people who spend all day every day caring for these wonderful animals and I always try to take the time to meet any dog that is declared a “favorite” of the staff. Truffles lives up to the hype in a really big way. She’s a pocket-sized ray of sunshine, with a grin a mile wide, a wiggly body and a dedication to bringing the party to any environment. Truffles is wiggly and pulls on the leash, but just because she knows something fun is ahead of her! She runs into the community room where the photoshoot is being held as if it’s the most exciting place in the world. She immediately engages both photographers in play, spinning and grinning and racing across the backdrop. We must have taken a million photos that show her mile-wide grin but the rest of her is just a blur as she was having too much fun for “traditional poses”. Truffles is a dog for people who love to play with their dog, for people who want to do things with their dog that aren’t just cuddle on the couch. She can do couch cuddles of course, and lap cuddles and kisses and all of the sweet snuggly stuff but really she wants to have FUN and FUN is her people.
I don’t see any playgroup notes for Truffles but other volunteers have introduced her to other dogs and her response is … to try to get them to play haha, so think that if you have a similarly joyful and playful dog who doesn’t mind sharing their space with a sparkly party girl like Truffles, then you might want to arrange for them to meet! Truffles might be a little too much for very young children, but I could see her loving playing with a family of older kids and recruiting them to play whatever game she’s got going on at that time.
