Bio: Meet Tucker, a sweet and easygoing pup with a constantly wagging tail and a personality guaranteed to make you smile. Tucker is the kind of dog who simply enjoys being around his people—whether he’s lounging nearby, going for a leisurely walk, or soaking up affection and pets from anyone willing to give them. Tucker is typically a quiet dog, though he has recently picked up the occasional habit of barking at delivery trucks after watching the resident dogs do it. Otherwise, he’s calm, relaxed, and settles beautifully into a peaceful home environment. He’s wonderful with children, happily accepting pets and often offering gentle kisses in return. Tucker is also great with cats—he may be curious at first, but he’s respectful and quickly loses interest without chasing or bothering them. Around other dogs, Tucker is non-reactive and gets along well. During initial introductions he may try to mount female dogs, but he responds well to correction and redirection and usually stops after being reminded. Tucker is fully house-trained and trustworthy when left alone. He doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety or destructive behavior and is content relaxing on the couch, his bed, or the floor while waiting for his people to return. While his foster family hasn’t tested crate training, he’s been such a good house guest that it hasn’t been necessary. On walks, Tucker is an absolute gentleman on leash. He strolls along at his own pace, enjoys taking in the sights, and occasionally likes to stop and stare at the world around him. He never pulls and walks equally well with either a collar or harness. Sometimes a tasty treat is all it takes to encourage him to keep moving along. Tucker loves people and attention, and his happy expressions are impossible to miss—he’s known for his adorable smile, enthusiastic tail wags, and hilarious “bombastic side-eye.” He may not quite understand toys yet, but he more than makes up for it with his charming personality and goofy moments. Grasshoppers? Terrifying. A leaf blowing across the yard? Suspicious. Tucker’s dramatic reactions to harmless surprises only add to his lovable charm. And when it’s time to relax, he can snore happily just about anywhere. Friendly, affectionate, and wonderfully mellow, Tucker is looking for a loving home where he can continue being the happy, loyal companion he was meant to be.
