Bio: The famous line "There's no place like home" is spoken by Dorothy Gale in the classic 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. Our sweet Dorothy would also love to click her heels together (do dogs have heels??) and find herself in a safe and loving home. This girl finds life in the shelter to be stressful, but hasn’t let it dampen her happy personality. Here’s what some of her friends have said:
“Dorothy has become one of my favorite dogs. Though she’s stressed in the kennel, in the yard she becomes a calmer, affectionate, bird-chasing, pool-dipping pup! This afternoon, she came up to me and laid her head on my leg and stayed there enjoying pets for a couple minutes. I invited her up in the chair next to mine and she put her two paws up but didn’t stay, preferring to cool off by lying down in the pool. People are missing out on a lovely gal if they are judging Dorothy on her kennel presence alone.”
“First time meeting Dorothy. She calmly met me at the kennel door, tail loosely wagging. She walked mostly loose leash for the entire walk. She did get a little more eager for treats after showing me her perfect sit. We stopped on our way back for a brief snuggle fest and she readily gave me gentle licks to my face. What a sweet little nugget!”
Dorothy has been social and tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. There’s no place like home- could Dorothy’s home be with you??
