Meet Ember! If you're looking for an adventurous sidekick, Ember is ready to keep up! She is a very smart, high-energy girl who loves to play fetch, go camping, hike, and spend time with her people. She is highly food motivated, has good recall, enjoys car rides, and settles down nicely after she's had enough physical exercise and mental engagement. Ember is happiest when she has something to do. Like many intelligent, active dogs, she can become destructive if she's bored or under-stimulated.
She does very well in her kennel, willingly rests there even when the door is open, and is not destructive when left crated. Her previous owner believes she has tremendous potential and simply needs a family with the time to continue her training and provide plenty of outlets for her energy through exercise, enrichment, and interactive play.She has lived with another dog that was a senior and generally enjoyed playing, responding appropriately to corrections when she became too enthusiastic. She has also lived with cats and, while she may occasionally give chase out of excitement, she has coexisted well with them, respecting their boundaries and even cuddling with one of the resident cats.
