Does your cat need a Velcro cat? Then Sherry is your girl! Sherry grew up outside, but when she tried to make herself at home in a yard with a dog who didn’t want to share, she found her way to the shelter. Rightfully so, she was fearful and unsure of people, so she headed to a foster home to decompress and learn that people can be pretty great. What her foster family quickly discovered is that Sherry NEEDS another cat buddy. When she’s around her foster family alone, she may hide and hiss. But the moment one of the resident cats comes over, her whole demeanor changes! She rubs up against her feline friends, rolls over for pets from her humans, and becomes a much more comfortable and confident kitty. Sherry is proof that sometimes, the right cat friend can make ALL the difference. She’s looking for a home with a friendly, confident cat who can help show her the ropes and be her best buddy.

I am not currently at the shelter because I'm growing big and strong in a foster home! *Staff thinks I will be ready by Late August*.

You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-302-8707; you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed per animal.

Once I am old enough to go home, I will have to be adopted at the shelter without a visit. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to visit while I’m in the foster home as it’s a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. I want to be healthy for our new life together!
