I am a male, white and brown Domestic Shorthair mix.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Oct 11, 2026.
Bear is about 3 years old and already has a legendary origin story. He was found wandering a busy parking lot at a Black Bear Diner with an injured eye but somehow still full of charm. Fast forward six months post–eye removal, and Bear has fully embraced the pirate life — adapting beautifully and living that one-eyed life.
These days, Bear hangs out in our group room with his kitty buddies, soaking up love from volunteers, claiming laps, and enthusiastically batting around toys when the mood strikes. He’s sweet, playful, and affectionate, but also knows how to enjoy his independence. He can startle a bit on his blind side, but once he knows you’re there, he’s all love and purrs.
We don’t know how Bear feels about dogs yet, but we do know this: he’s a very sweet boy with a big heart and a story that’ll make you smile every time you tell it. Come meet Bear — one-eyed parking lot rescues make the best companions.
Meet Bear Tuesday-Sunday, 11am-5pm.
