****Basil has been with us longer than we would like. He has been added to our Lonely Hearts Club*****
Basil is a 78-pound bundle of joy with a big smile, a happy heart, and enough energy to keep life interesting! This affectionate Labradoodle loves being around people and wants to be part of whatever you're doing, whether that's heading out for an adventure, playing tug-of-war, or settling in for some quality snuggle time.
Basil recently enjoyed a hike with one of our volunteers, and he was all smiles, tail wags, and happy wiggles! He loved sniffing, exploring, and romping through the tall grass. He's also a social guy who gets excited when he spots new people, dogs, and bicyclists out and about. He's treat-motivated, too, and his leash manners improved with a little snack-based encouragement. Who says you can't teach an enthusiastic old soul new tricks?
This smart, busy boy will thrive with an active family who can give him plenty of exercise, attention, playtime, and mental enrichment. He knows sit and down, is house-trained and crate-trained.
Basil is friendly with people and enjoys the company of other dogs, although he can get a little overexcited when making new friends. He'll appreciate a family willing to help him practice his manners and learn when it's time to play and when it's time to settle. He has the potential to live with other animals with thoughtful introductions.
Basil has so much love and enthusiasm to share, and he's looking for someone who can embrace his big personality while helping him learn to slow down sometimes. He's been with us longer than we'd like, and we'd love to see this wonderful boy find the person or family who will give him the time, attention, and companionship he deserves.
Could Basil be your new adventure buddy and professional snuggle companion? Come meet him and see for yourself!
Medical History: Basil is experiencing seizures and has been put on antiepileptic medication to help counter. While complete resolution of this disease isn't possible, Basil is showing improvement with the medication. He will need this medication for the rest of his life. Your adoption counselor can review his medical history in detail. It's still always a good idea to set up an appointment with your vet soon after adoption so that they can meet and make plans to keep Basil happy and healthy!
Weight: ~74.1 lbs
Restrictions: No cats/critters
Adoption Fee: $100 + Tax
