*Hound Mix
*2 yrs old; 41lbs
*Very sweet, kind, gentle natured. Arrived pretty shy but getting very playful and loving! Will hop in our laps in the play yard area!
*Foster Report (below) Oct 24: Did superbly. Good in the car and overnight in the home, housebroken, great taking a bath, quickly settled in! Very loving and affectionate.

Better together?  We'll let you decide!!  Introducing sibling sensations APRIL and CASEY.  We LOVE these stunning hound-ies and know you will as well.  Found as strays,  they were in great physical shape but sadly were pretty shy/overwhelmed upon arrival. We're working with them daily to help them find their footing and thus far,  our efforts are paying off nicely!

Although they can still be a bit darty and shy,  still you'll not find a mean bone in their bodies.  Of the 2, Casey is a bit more reserved.  They are definitely more confident together and watching them run/romp/play together,  you might think they are super outgoing/boisterous dogs but one on one, they are more quiet.  Loud noises are super scary for them so if you're leash walking them, be prepared for a sudden darting motion.  In our play yard area,  they will periodically check in with you and eventually opt to chill and relax right by you. They are starting to get much more bold so don't be surprised if they hop straight up into you lap and give you a big wet one. Their affectionate, loving sides are coming through and we are loving what we're seeing!  Oh, such sweet and kind natured doggies!

Both dressed for success in stunning brindle with white accent coats, count on them to greet you with a warm smile and soft swivel of the hips.  Casey, of note, only has a 1/3 length tail (complete with a curious crook in it) while April has a full length tail.  We are slowly introducing them to other dogs but for now they are feeling pretty uncertain and will air snap simply asking for more space from the dog that's wishing to meet them.  This too is an area that is in the works and we anticipate once they are feeling more confident, they will welcome more polite, calm dogs into their world.

The sky is the limit for this gorgeous pair and we hope you'll consider adding one or both to your home soon.   Just think, YOU can experience all kinds of amazing pet "firsts" thanks to YOUR efforts.  Please ask for Casey and or April today.

FOSTER REPORT OCT 24: April’s Foster Report ??

April is truly one of the sweetest, most loving dogs I have ever met! She has such a gentle soul, a playful personality, and so much love to give. I absolutely adored every minute I spent with her, and I truly believe she has the potential to make an AMAZING addition to a lucky family!

Personality & Temperament:

When I first met April, she was very nervous, timid, and shy. However, it only took about an hour for her to come out of her shell and become my new best friend! Once she realized she was safe and loved, her sweet little personality started to shine!

April can be startled by loud noises or sudden movements, but with a little patience and reassurance, she warms up beautifully. She just needs someone willing to give her a little time to feel comfortable. Once she trusts you, she is your best friend!

April showed such a gentle and loving temperament throughout our time together! As she became more comfortable with me, she was very receptive to affection and physical contact. I was able to gently touch her face, pick her up, cuddle her, and even give her a bath without her showing any obvious signs of distress or aggression. She never once growled or barked aggressively during our time together. She was an absolute sweetheart!

Based on her sweet, gentle, and loving personality, I think April would be great with children! She has such a kind nature and was incredibly patient during our time together.

Playfulness & Affection:

April is the PERFECT combination of playful and cuddly! She absolutely LOVES to play, especially when you run and let her chase you around! It was so much fun watching her get excited and show off her silly, happy personality.

But as much as April loves to play, she loves to snuggle just as much! She is such an affectionate little girl who really seemed to enjoy being close to me once she felt comfortable. I even let her sleep in my bed, and she was the sweetest little cuddle buddy! She truly makes you feel like you’ve been best friends forever.

Leash Walking & Car Rides:

April did wonderful on a leash! I was very impressed with how well she walked, and she was such a joy to take on our little adventures.

She is a little nervous about getting into the car, but once she is inside, she does great! She never whined during our rides and seemed to really enjoy looking out the windows and taking in everything around her. With some encouragement and positive experiences, I think she will continue gaining confidence with car rides!

One thing I noticed is that April doesn’t seem to respond when her name is called. I’m not entirely sure whether she knows her name yet, but this is something her future family could work on with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement.

Our Adventures Together:

April and I had the BEST time together! During her stay, we packed in so many fun experiences! We went to the park three times, visited the lake, spent time enjoying the outdoors, went out to breakfast, and even had a little spa day with a bath! Of course, we also made plenty of time for playing, cuddling, and relaxing together.

One of my favorite things about April was getting to watch her become more comfortable and confident as we spent time together. Seeing a nervous little dog slowly realize that she was safe, loved, and allowed to have fun was incredibly special.

And at the end of our adventures, April even got to curl up in bed with me for the night! She was such a precious little companion.

Final Thoughts & Adoption Recommendation:

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about April! During our time together, she was gentle, affectionate, playful, sweet-natured, and had SO much love to give. She may need a little extra patience when meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar situations, but once she feels safe, her personality absolutely blossoms.

April seems like the kind of dog who just wants to love and be loved. I think she would be happiest with a family who will make her feel safe, give her lots of cuddles, take her on adventures, and let her know how special she is.

I believe April would thrive in a loving home with people who understand that she might be shy at first. Her gentle personality makes me think she could be a wonderful companion for families, including those with children. She just needs a little patience, reassurance, and lots of love!

If you’re looking for a dog who can be your adventure buddy during the day and your snuggle buddy at night, April might just be your perfect match! ??

I went into this experience thinking I was just spending some time with a foster dog, but April quickly stole my heart. It took her about an hour to become my best friend, and I hope her forever family gets to experience that same beautiful transformation as she learns to trust and feel at home.

Whoever adopts this precious girl is going to be SO incredibly lucky. April is truly something special, and she deserves the most amazing forever home! ????
