I am a female, red and white Mixed Breed mix.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Oct 15, 2026.
Meet Maddie, a 3½-year-old sweetheart who is ready to trade shelter life for the comfort of a home again.
Maddie is very potty trained and, more than anything, she is a total people person. She has participated in playgroups and has done well with both calm and higher-energy dogs, but if you ask Maddie who she would rather spend her time with, humans win every time.
Maddie can be timid when she first meets you, so she may need a little time and patience to feel safe. But once she relaxes, realizes you’re a friend, and lets you give her that first pet, the walls start coming down and the lover girl comes OUT.
Her love languages? Butt scratches and forehead kisses. Obviously.
Maddie lived in a home before being surrendered, so entering the shelter system was a big adjustment for her. She was understandably shut down at first and has made progress, but the shelter simply isn’t where this sensitive girl is going to feel her most comfortable. She deserves the chance to feel safe in a home again.
She also walks well on a leash and already has some great home-life skills. Maddie is a very calm girl who would be more than happy to spend her days relaxing on the couch or simply hanging out wherever her person is. She doesn't need to be the center of the action—being close to her person is enough for her.
While Maddie does well with other dogs, a meet-and-greet with any potential canine siblings is recommended to make sure everyone feels comfortable together.
Maddie doesn’t need someone to rush her. She just needs someone willing to give her a little time to realize, “Okay… I’m safe here.”
And once she does, you’ll get to see the calm, affectionate, people-loving girl who has been waiting underneath all that uncertainty.
Maddie already knows what it feels like to have a home. Now she just needs someone to give her that feeling again.
