Hi, I’m Dylan. Hey. Are you coming over here? Can I come out? Do you have a minute? Sorry. I have a lot to say.
I’m a deep black cat with FIV, an impressive vocabulary, and absolutely no interest in pretending I’m mysterious. Approximately three seconds after meeting you I will start talking. And talking. And talking.
Most of the time, I'm trying to tell you one of two things: I would like to come out, or I would like some attention. Preferably both.
I just don't think I belong sitting in a kennel when there are perfectly good humans walking around who could be loving me. Every time someone comes near, I make my case all over again. Maybe this person has finally arrived to correct the obvious mistake and take me somewhere I can be part of things.
Because that's really who I am. I'm an incredibly sweet, friendly cat who just wants to be with people.
I haven't met a person I don't like. I don't need much time to decide whether you're worthy of my affection either. Come over, say hello, give me some pets, and we're pretty much friends. I soak up attention like I've been waiting all day specifically for you to arrive, and if you walk away before I think we're finished, don't worry.

I am also FIV positive, but that's just one small piece of information about me. It doesn't tell you about the deep black coat you'll want to run your hands over, how ridiculously friendly I am, or the little conversations we'll have every time you walk into the room.
So if you hear me talking when you come through the cat room, come over and listen.
