Did you know that adult cats typically wait 3x as long as kittens to be adopted? ??
In our line of work, we rarely intake adults cats into care because so many of them are well-adjusted to and happiest outside. But others, like Bunnie, prove that with a little bit of patience and time, they can be just as loving and content inside as out.
Bunnie came to us in early April as an emergency intake. She had been in active labor for hours, delivering one kitten but struggling to deliver the rest. We rushed her to Animal Emergency Center and she had to have a c-section to remove the kitten stuck in her birth canal AND the kittens waiting to be born. She sadly lost all but one of her kittens but happily, adopted 3 orphaned kittens while in foster.
ALL her kittens have since been adopted but Bunnie is still waiting. She may not be as outgoing and social as her kittens but she loves deeply, bonds strongly and loves being pet. A home that understands her quirks and loves her regardless is our hope. ??
This week we celebrate the pets that are less adoptable, not because they aren't adoptable, but because they just need someone to see them. We promise, the less than adoptable are often the BEST adoptables!
