More Info: I have been at the shelter since Aug 29, 2026.
Meet Lovie — a sweet girl who is finally learning what it feels like to be safe.
Lovie, perfect size mix with a gentle heart and an adventurous spirit. She is discovering that people can be trusted and that a home can be a wonderful place.
She is friendly and submissive with people and dogs, and she plays beautifully with dogs of all sizes. She would absolutely love a doggy sibling—she misses having a friend to play with and can get bored being the only dog in her foster home.
Lovie is athletic, energetic, curious, and independent. She loves running, sniffing, and exploring outdoors. She is also food-motivated and already learning to sit for treats! She is crate trained, potty trained, sleeps through the night, and enjoys her crate as a cozy place to relax.
She is still learning leash manners, she'll need continued training, patience, and a secure fenced yard, but she is making a great progress every day.
Her dream home: A patient family with a fenced yard, older kids, and ideally another friendly dog to keep her company.
Lovie has spent enough time without a home. Now she just needs someone to show her what “forever” feels like.

Almost Home Foundation's adoption requirements:
(1) Be at least 21 years of age;
(2) Have the consent of all adults living in the household;
(3) Have approval from the residence owner;
(4) Have valid ID with current address;
(5) Be approved by Almost Home Foundation as a suitable adoptive home; and
(6) Live in the suburbs surrounding Schaumburg (Illinois Residents only)
*** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash, Zelle, or checks for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards. ***
