I am a female, black Domestic Mediumhair mix.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 4 months old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Aug 26, 2026.
Hi everyone! I’m Truffles! I’m a sleek black cat with the unique white fur markings of a white bikini bottom on my lower belly and a small white necklace of fur on my neck. I also have a few tuffs of white highlights at the end of my tail!
I love my mom, Mousse, and snuggle with her whenever I can. I’m a talkative kitty that meows and chirps while playing. Aren’t I adorable?! I greet my foster humans at the door with excitement for food and pets. My favorite treats are Churus and freeze-dried chicken bits, so a home with lots of these would be a dream!
I need to be adopted with a sibling or by a family who has a kitten under the age of one. I’d love to be adopted with my mom, Mousse, or my brother, Pistachio.
Almost Home adopts kittens under 6 months of age in pairs, as kittens that young are not fully socialized and need a same/similar-age playmate in order not to become a nuisance to family members—including other pets in the home. Adopting kittens in pairs allows them to complete the kitty socialization process, learn good kitty manners, and have a playmate so their humans can sleep at night. We consider adopting single kittens to applicants who have another young kitty under 1 year of age, provided the applicant’s kitten is up to date on all age-appropriate vetting.
Almost Home's Adoption Requirements:
* Be at least 21 years of age
* Have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household
* Have written approval from owner of residence
* Have a valid government-issued photo ID with current address
* Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Almost Home Foundation
* Be ready to make a lifetime commitment
* Live in the greater Chicagoland area (Illinois residents only)
* Pass a veterinarian reference check for current and past pets
If you are interested in Truffles, please complete an online adoption application at https://almosthomefoundation.org/adopt/adopt-a-cat/ or email cats@almosthomefoundation.org.
*** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash, checks, or Zelle for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards. ***
