Lincoln has quite the story.
She was originally rescued from the streets of Houston in terrible condition, severely underweight and suffering from significant skin issues. After lots of love and care in foster, she made a complete recovery, was adopted, and has absolutely flourished.
Lincoln is deeply devoted to her people, active, intelligent, playful and naturally protective. She regularly attends doggie daycare and has done wonderfully with other dogs in that environment.
Unfortunately, as Lincoln has matured, she has developed some resource guarding towards the other pet in her home, initially around high-value food and more recently around her person. Her family has been working with a professional trainer and, although these interactions have been noisy, Lincoln has not bitten and has never shown resource guarding toward humans.
After a lot of thought, her family believes Lincoln will be happiest as the only dog in her home, where she can be the queen of her castle while still enjoying appropriate socialization with other dogs outside the home.
And this girl comes with some serious training!
?? Excellent recall
?? Heels on and off leash
?? Crate & place trained
?? Knows sit, down, load up, outside, off, drop it, spin & more
?? Trained with an implied wait until released
?? Even knows how to potty on command!
?? Spayed & fully vaccinated, including canine influenza
?? Comfortable with baths and nail trims
?? Loves swimming and adventures
Her dream home is an active person or family who wants a loyal companion to be part of their everyday adventures. Her current family loves Lincoln immensely and wants this transition handled thoughtfully. They would like several introductions, including time in the potential new home, before placement so everyone and especially Lincoln can feel comfortable.
Lincoln will also come with everything she needs: her crate, bedding, elevated bed, leashes, Fi GPS collar, Ruffwear life jacket, puzzle toys and some of her favorite toys.
This isn't a family simply trying to "get rid of a dog." They love Lincoln and are continuing to work with her and her trainer while we search for the right home where she can thrive long-term.
Please share Lincoln. Somewhere out there is someone looking for an incredibly loyal, beautifully trained adventure partner who just wants to be their one and only.
