Zeus is a distinguished German Shepherd with a friendly, easygoing nature and a touch of playful spirit despite being an older gentleman. He approaches with interest and soft body language, making him approachable and pleasant to interact with from the start. Zeus is easy to leash and handle, walking well alongside his handler and transitioning in and out of his kennel without issue. He knows the command sit and takes treats gently, showing both manners and responsiveness. While he does appear slightly off in his gait at times, he still enjoys engaging and remains bright and social, leaning in for attention and connection. With a moderate energy level, Zeus balances activity with the ability to settle, carrying himself with a calm, steady presence.
Zeus has transitioned exceptionally well into the foster home and demonstrates excellent household manners. He is fully house-trained, crate-trained, calm indoors, respectful of furniture, and settles easily after activity. Foster reports no behavioral concerns, fears, sensitivities, resource guarding, or handling issues. Zeus is affectionate without being demanding, enjoys relaxing near his people, walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and knows several commands including sit, stay, come, down, and shake while also learning spin. He lives successfully with a resident dog and cat, displaying a friendly, playful demeanor with the dog through soft, bouncy play, chase games, and mutual wrestling, while remaining respectful and non-aggressive with the cat. Foster describes Zeus as gentle, calm, and affectionate, noting that he has integrated seamlessly into the home and has proven to be an easy, dependable companion.
