Meet Fiona! She was originally found as a stray in Haverhill, MA back in March and had been adopted but surrendered back to us due to no fault of her own. She can get stressed out with other cats in her space, and is looking to be the only cat of the castle. While she can be a little nervous at first (like many kitties adjusting to new surroundings), once she feels safe, Fiona blossoms into an affectionate, playful companion. Once she gets to know you, she greets you with adorable chirps and head buts.
Fiona is considered a special needs adoption due to being diagnosed with thinning hair on the abdomen from overgrooming. This condition may be related to stressors in the house, but her previous veterinarian had prescribed a diet to help with this condition. On her recent physical exam, her hair appeared to be regrowing, but we recommend that she continue her prescription diet unless otherwise directed by your regular veterinarian. The Cape Ann Animal Aid's Shelter Medicine Department will refill her prescription diet on Chewy.com if you do not yet have a relationship with a regular veterinarian, but we strongly encourage you to establish a relationship with a regular veterinarian as soon as possible.
