I am a female, tan and white Catahoula Leopard Hound and Labrador Retriever.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 7 months old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Oct 14, 2026.
Saffron is a 6-month-old Catahoula/Lab mix with a sweet little face and a sensitive heart.
She came to the shelter as part of our moms last litter program, and while all of her siblings have found their forever homes, Saffron is still waiting for hers.
She was the shy one of the bunch, and the big world can feel a little overwhelming for her. Saffron is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who will give her the time and encouragement she needs to build confidence at her own pace.
?? Meet Saff — A Little Heart Still Learning to Be
Brave ??
Saff is a six-month-old Catahoula/Retriever puppy with a heart full of sweetness and a world that still feels a little too big and scary.
Saff came to us with her siblings, and having them by her side helped her interact with humans and navigate her surroundings. But when her siblings found homes, Saff felt overwhelmed. She would retreat to a corner, trembling, unsure how to face this big, unfamiliar world without her little safety net.
And then came foster care, where we discovered something truly special about Saff: she can be brave when she has a friend to show her the way. Doorways, stairs, and unfamiliar people that once felt impossible became manageable with a confident dog guide. And believe it or not, even a cat helped her find her courage! ??
Because of this, Saff’s future home should include a resident dog(s) who can be her gentle guide and help her feel safe. We also think she could do well with cats, though she will still need time and thoughtful introductions to discover that for herself.
Saff isn’t going to be the puppy who immediately runs up to greet you or who wants to cuddle day 1. She will need someone who understands that trust is built in tiny moments. Someone who will be patient, respect her fears, and never ask her to take bigger steps than she is ready for.
But if you give her that time, oh, the rewards are going to be beautiful. Beneath all that fear is the sweetest, goofiest, playful little puppy. A girl who is learning, growing, and discovering that she can do things she once thought were impossible.
She is learning potty training quickly, does wonderfully in her crate, and is a quiet little passenger in the car. No young children at this time due to fear.
For the person willing to let her bloom at her own pace, Saff has so much love, laughter, and puppy magic waiting to share. ??
