I am a male, brown and white American Pit Bull Terrier mix.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Jul 07, 2026.
Deacon was found as a stray by a member of the community on West Nixon Street in Pasco.
He is neutered and ready to go home today!
At around 77 pounds, Deacon is a big guy with an even bigger heart. He’s become a staff favorite, and it’s easy to see why. There’s just something about this goofy, lovable “pittopotamus” that makes you smile. Honestly, what’s not to love?
One of Deacon’s favorite pastimes is rolling around in the grass like he hasn’t got a single worry in the world. Watching him soak up the sunshine with a goofy grin on his face is enough to brighten anyone’s day. He also knows how to sit, lie down, and even crawl, so he’s already got a few tricks up his sleeve!
Deacon walks well on a leash, though his enthusiasm can get the better of him at the beginning of a walk. At 77 pounds, he’s a strong boy and may pull at first, but once he settles in, he’s much easier to handle and enjoys strolling alongside his person.
This big sweetheart is affectionate, playful, and always ready to bring a little joy to someone’s day. Whether he’s showing off his tricks, rolling around in the grass, or leaning in for some attention, Deacon has a way of winning people over without even trying. He’s ready to trade shelter life for a cozy home and someone to share all his goofy moments with.
Since Deacon was found as a stray, his history with other dogs and cats is unknown. Meet-and-greets are required with any dogs currently in the home before adoption.
Deacon’s adoption fee is $50 and includes his neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, and flea and tick preventative. Adoptions are first-come, first-served. We do not offer holds, deposits, pre-adoptions, or applications. As a stray-intake animal control facility, animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues without notice.
Come meet Deacon today and see for yourself why this big, goofy boy has stolen so many hearts around the shelter. He’s ready to find a family to call his own!
