Meet Max!
This handsome German Shepherd mix was brought to us as a stray after wandering around Pasco for a little while. While no owner came forward to claim him, it's pretty clear that someone spent time loving and teaching Max. He knows all of his basic commands, is potty trained, and has plenty of good manners under his belt!
Like many German Shepherds, Max has protective instincts and can be cautious when meeting new people. He is a bit of a barker when meeting strangers and doesn't seem to be the biggest fan of men, so he'll need someone who understands that he may take some time to warm up and feel comfortable with new people. He also may not be the best fit for very young children under 5.
The good news? Max LOVES other animals! He does fantastic with other dogs and even does well with cats. He has also spent time on a farm. While he thought the chickens looked like they might be fun to chase, he listened when told to "leave it," showing that he knows how to take direction even when his instincts kick in.
Max is a sweet, smart boy who clearly has a lot to offer. He just needs a family who will appreciate his quirks, give him time to get comfortable, and continue the training someone clearly started with him.
Max is neutered and ready to go home today! His adoption fee is $50 and includes his neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccines, and flea, tick, and worm treatment.
Come meet Max and see if this handsome, well-trained boy is the perfect addition to your family!
