Description: My name is Eileen.
I am a female, brown Mixed Breed mix.
I am a female, brown Mixed Breed mix.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 1 month old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 01, 2026.
Eileen is a playful beauty. She arrived at the shelter with an injured leg, but it’s healed enough that she not only gets around but can run. She LOVES to run and chase toys, and we played round after round of fetch. Eileen also sits for treats, likes to give hugs, and enjoys pets and praise. She’s a good girl with special needs (read her medical update below) but has lots of love and fun to share!
Special Needs Medical Update: Originally it was believed Eileen would need an amputation of her rear left leg, but the injury has healed enough that she will use the leg without discomfort. Since she is a young, active dog and is currently not in pain, it is no longer in her best interest to amputate. However, as she gets older she will likely develop arthritis in that leg earlier than normal. Anyone considering adopting her should be willing and prepared to provide arthritic support in the form of pain meds or supplements as she ages. Our vets have also advised that it is impossible to know if an amputation will be warranted in the future.
