Meet Fiona!
This beautiful 2-year-old German Shepherd was brought to the shelter as a stray, but the discovery of a spay scar suggests she once had a home of her own. Whatever her past may have been, Fiona has found shelter life overwhelming and has been understandably scared and shut down.
Fiona is still learning to feel comfortable with handling, leash walking, and interacting with people. She'll need a patient, experienced adopter who can give her the time, space, and understanding she needs to build confidence at her own pace. Rather than expecting her to jump right into family life, her future adopter should be prepared to celebrate the small victories along the way.
For the right person, helping Fiona discover that the world can be a safe place again will be an incredibly rewarding journey.
