Hi, I’m Derp Derp!
I may be named Derp, but there’s nothing derpy about how much love I have to give! I’m a goofy, playful, affectionate guy who loves making people smile. I’ve been with my family for about a year and a half, and now I’m looking for my forever home!
My favorite things include playing tug-of-war, chasing balls, chewing on my favorite durable toys, and splashing in the water. Have a pool? Count me in! But as much as I love playtime and adventures, I’m also a big cuddle bug. After I’ve gotten some energy out, I’m more than happy to snuggle up with my favorite humans.
I’m a friendly boy who gets excited to meet new people, and I enjoy hanging out with dogs both big and small. I walk well on a leash and have even visited Soda City like a pro! I’m also a smart cookie who loves to learn. I know how to sit, wait/stay, and “nice,” and I come when you call my name. I even wait patiently for permission to eat my dinner. My family says I’m very teachable, so I’d love to keep learning new things with my forever family.
I’m already house-trained, and my crate is one of my favorite places to relax. I do best when I’m crated if I need to be left alone for longer stretches, because I can get a little anxious and sometimes chew things I shouldn’t when I’m lonely for too long. I’m also a bit of a toy destroyer — stuffing just has a way of coming out when I’m around! Durable toys, especially Chuck-It balls and sticks, are my favorites.
A few things to know about finding the right fit: I’ve been around preschool- and school-aged kids. I can get excited and sometimes try to herd little ones, so older children would likely be the best match for me. I’ve also had mixed experiences with cats, and I may try to chase them, so a cat-free home would probably make everyone happiest.
More than anything, I’m looking for a family who will love my silly personality, give me opportunities to play and explore, and remember that I love affection just as much as adventure. I’d thrive with people who can provide structure, keep my clever brain busy, and include me in their lives.

If my bio shows “Spay/Neutered” with a checkmark, I have already been altered; if you do not see this listed, my surgery is still scheduled and a refundable spay/neuter deposit will be required, which will be returned within 24 hours after my procedure is completed.
