Bio: Cade was previously with us at PACC under the name Scrappy Doo. Scrappy Cornelius Doo was the nephew of Scooby Doo and his famous catchphrase was “Puppy power!” Cade may have a new name now, and he may not exactly be a puppy at around five years old, but he definitely has the power to win your heart!! Here’s what some of his volunteer friends have said about him:
“Cade is a handsome young dog who is very eager to get out for his walks but settles after a few minutes of walking. He’d probably be a good hiking or jogging companion. He is very friendly and likes being pet. Nice boy who needs more exercise and stimulation than we can give him in the shelter.”
“Cade was calm and his tail was wagging when I approached his kennel. He was easy to leash and leave the kennel area with. He would make an awesome hiking/adventure buddy, I can already tell. He was friendly, made good eye contact, took treats nicely from my hand, and he accepted lots of pets and attention. Love this big-headed boy!”
During a brief stay in a home Cade did well with another resident dog his size and was described as playful and affectionate:
“Cade is a very sweet loving dog who needs time, attention, and training. Since being in our home, he has become more comfortable in a home setting. He likes to now get on the couch and lay down or lay on the dog beds and he loves affection.”
Cade was adopted in 2024 and spent about a year in that home. He was reportedly house trained, affectionate and playful. His family said that he likes car rides, loves to be close to his people and lay on them, struts around the yard like it’s his job, gives lots of kisses, and loves to be loved. If you’re looking for a best friend who wants nothing more than to be by your side, this is your guy!!
Cade has been appropriate and tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup, choosing mostly to keep to himself. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Ask to meet Cade today!
