About: Meet Fajita, a stunning mostly black Pit Mix whose delicate white markings—a charming marking over her nose, a splash on her chest, and cute little white tip toes—make her truly unforgettable. This brave girl has been with PACC since April 2025, and her journey of learning to trust is an absolute inspiration!
When Fajita first arrived, the world was a scary place. She was nervous and would flail and bite at the leash just from fear, preferring to keep her distance from both humans and dogs.
Fajita is proof that patience and compassion can change everything! Over time, this sensitive girl has blossomed into a wonderful companion, especially with other dogs:
She has learned to trust other dogs and does exceptionally well sharing her kennel. She has had multiple kennel mates (only leaving because they got adopted!) and thrives when she can follow the lead of a confident canine companion.
Don't let her "barky" kennel presence fool you—once she is out, she is a completely different dog! She can be shy when meeting new people, but with a little time and patience, she quickly melts into a sweet little love bug who is ready to give all the snuggles.
Fajita is looking for a quiet, patient family ready to welcome her sensitive heart into their home:
Her ideal placement is in a home with one or multiple resident dogs where she can continue to follow their positive cues.
Her adopter must be prepared to give this brave little soul the time and space she needs to adjust and feel safe.
Fajita deserves a chance to live in a home where her sweet nature can shine through permanently. If you are interested in meeting this unique and loving girl, please come to PACC and ask to meet Fajita today!
Available for foster care (2+ weeks) or adoption through PACC.
Interested parties:
Must visit PACC before the Close of business Friday November 14th deadline to meet with a counselor who will review notes and introduce you to the dog to ensure that it’s a good fit. Some dogs may also require an introduction to any dogs they may potentially live with.
Home Management Plan
1) Bite History
• Cp staff pulled empty bowl to back of kennel and reached in to grab and the dog came forward and bit her left ring finger knuckle area breaking skin.
2) Undersocialized
• Fajita needs to go home with a strong handler. Due to fear behaviors, they may panic over small things and could potentially attempt to flee by bolting on leash.
• Needs time to decompress in a home, this could take 3 weeks to 3 months if not longer.
• If dog friendly, a confident dog could help bring them out of their shell.
• Go slow with your new dog and do not force handling, this could make the dog fear bite.
• Your new dog will not be affectionate immediately after adoption, they will need patience.
• Send home with martingale collar and flat clip leash
3) Handling Issues
• Go slow and at the dogs pace, does not like forced handling.
• Your new pet may fear bite if handling is forced, give your new pet time to decompress.
• Your new pet needs a dragline for at least 2 weeks, or until they are comfortable in their new home.
4) DOG INTRO REQUIRED
• Very fearful, defensive behavior and over-correcting in playgroup
5) On Prozac
• Do NOT stop medication without consulting your personal vet.
• MUST be tapered - stopping abruptly may cause negative effects.
