About: Just like the delicious dessert he's named after, our Mousse is a truly sweet guy. This dashing, robust, caramel-colored mixed breed is looking for a hero to give him his second chance at a forever home. Mousse has been through a lot in his young life and recently found himself back at the shelter, but we're committed to helping him find his perfect fit.
Mousse was originally found as a stray and was later adopted. Unfortunately, he was recently returned to the shelter. While we knew he had a history of resource guarding with other dogs, it was discovered in his adoptive home that he also struggles with resource guarding around children. Because of this, it is crucial that his new home has no children.
Mousse also needs to be the only pet in the home. He has a history of resource guarding with other dogs, which led to a previous altercation and injury. It is essential that his new family fully understands this behavior and is prepared to take all necessary precautions to keep Mousse and any other household members safe.
In his previous home, Mousse was described as a playful and affectionate dog who loved to be by his person's side. His foster parent shared that Mousse has "so much love to give in the right home." He's a big boy with an even bigger heart; just waiting for a family to shower him with affection and provide the dedicated guidance he needs. He is energetic and will need a secure yard and monitoring to ensure he doesn't attempt another escape.
Mousse is a good dog who needs a savvy adopter who understands his unique needs. If you're looking for a loyal, lifelong companion and believe your home is the perfect fit for Mousse to thrive, please come to PACC and ask to meet this magnificent boy. This is his last chance at finding his forever home, and he deserves a hero of his own.

Available adoption Only through PACC.

Interested parties:
Must visit PACC before the 5:00PM Monday September 8, 2025 deadline to meet with a counselor who will review notes and introduce you to the dog to ensure that it’s a good fit. Some dogs may also require an introduction to any dogs they may potentially live with.

Home Management Plan

Injured Another Animal
• altercation with resident dog over resources, causing injuries.
Resource Guarding Space From Dogs:
• Ensure each dog has their own space.
• Do not force dogs into each other's space
Resource Guarding Food From Dogs
• Feed your new dog at set times. Do NOT free feed your new dog with other dogs.
• Set up separate SAFE spaces where dogs cannot assess each other. HIGHLY recommend feeding in kennels or separate rooms.
• Do not offer treats to multiple dogs at the same time. Treat time should be separate.
• Teach your new dog, drop it and leave it.
No Kids
• due to near miss bite in previous home from resource guarding
Resource Guarding Toys from Dogs and seen with a child
• Pick up all toys before bringing your new dog home.
• Make toy time separate, give each dog their own space to enjoy their toys.
• Teach your new dog to drop it and leave it.
Escape Risk
• Mousse likes to adventure and may find ways to escape their confinement.
• Monitor outside time, do not leave unattended in the yard.
No Other Dogs
• due to resource guarding and causing injuries to another dog
