Bio: “Oswald” was a single season show on Nick Jr, which featured a thoughtful blue octopus named Oswald who lived in an apartment complex with his dachshund Weenie. The show followed Oswald’s interactions with his friends and neighbors, including Henry, a penguin, and Daisy, a flower. Oswald’s primary character traits were his optimism and patience; much like a dog we’d like to introduce you to! While he can’t claim to be friends with a penguin, our very good boy Oswald is optimistic that his furever family will take him home soon!

Oswald spent a few days in a short-term foster home where we learned great things about him! His foster shared that Oswald is working on crate-training and does great with enrichment items while left home alone in the crate. He is a big friendly cuddle bug who loves people.

Oswald’s volunteer friends can’t believe that this sweet senior is still in the shelter. One shared:

“Oswald is an independent, easygoing guy. He was easy to leash up and walk over to the yard. Once in the play yard he spent most of his time exploring but would intermittently come over to me for snuggles.”

Other volunteers say that Oswald absolutely LOVES belly rubs! When meeting other dogs in playgroup Oswald has been independent and tolerant. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit and is looking for a home with a secure yard.

In the TV show, Oswald’s motto is, “Slow and steady.” To the contrary, we think that if you meet our sweet boy Oswald, you will fall fast and hard in love with him! Ask to meet Oswald today!!
