Bio: Cleopatra was an Egyptian queen known for her sharp intellect and political skills. Our Cleopatra isn’t very interested in politics, but she’s smart enough to know that she deserves to be treated like the royalty she’s name for!! Here’s what we learned about this regal lady during a stay in foster:
- She loved sleeping close to her foster person at night
- She is well- behaved when left home alone and snoozes the day away
- She is house trained
- She is cuddly, attentive, eager for treats and a quick learner
“Cleo is always nearby. If I am in a closed room, I know she will be waiting on the other side of the door when I come out. She waits so patiently. When you let her, she would love to sit on one or two people and receive pets. If she can't be on you, she would like to be sleeping with maybe at least one part of her (usually her butt) touching you. Cleo is very engaged in training with treats. She loves any and all treats, except for baby carrots. Cleo is a sweet and chill older dog, and she's eager to learn new things.”
Volunteers at the shelter love Cleopatra- here’s what they’ve said:
“This was my first time meeting Cleopatra in her kennel. She leashed up easily and immediately did her business when we got outside. In the yard, she stayed right by my feet for snuggles and she gave me lots of licks and kisses to my face. She takes treats gently and knows the sit command. What a sweet and gentle little senior girl with the cutest little underbite. She would love to be treated like the queen that she is!”
“I met Cleopatra for the first time today. She was excited to be going for a walk and was polite while being leashed. She began pulling as we exited the building; it turns out she loves another volunteer who was standing several feet away. Once she got to say “hello” she settled quickly. In the yard she leaned in for affection.”
Cleopatra would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home or would love to hog all your attention as your one and only! Cleopatra is a senior gal who is looking for a safe and comfy retirement home. Her wild puppy days are behind her and she’s hoping to spend her golden years relaxing and taking it slow. Cleopatra is ready to give her whole heart to you- come meet her today!
