About:
Forget the history books — the best thing to come out of the Alamo is a 2-year-old, four-legged gentleman looking for his forever home! ??
Alamo is ready to make history of his own by conquering your couch, winning your heart, and becoming the hero of your household. He’s got a whole lot of love to give, and his next great victory could be finding YOU!
??One of his volunteer friends had this to say:
“Alamo is a ball of fun energy! Today he was super excited to get out of his kennel to explore and he had a great time in the play yard. He has a curious personality and spent most of the time sniffing all the smells left behind by the dogs who visited the yard before him. He seems to know sit but needs a little bit of time to get his energy out before he feels like participating- hell definitely thrive in an active and patient home where he gets exercise for his body and mind. A happy and bouncy pup!”)
Come meet him today and make history together!
Available for foster care (30+ days) or adoption through PACC.
Interested parties:
Must visit PACC before the COB Monday October26th , 2026 deadline to meet with a counselor who will review notes and introduce you to the dog to ensure that it’s a good fit. Some dogs may also require an introduction to any dogs they may potentially live with.
Home Management Plan
Bite History:
• Incident Details: minor bite to 13 year in the face. The victim jumped on a couch where Alamo was sitting on.
Undocumented Bite History:
• Incident Details: per previous owner has bitten the kids. Unknown circumstances.
No Kids:
• Alamo is not suitable for a home with children.
• Reason: in previous home as one documented bite to a 13 year old and undocumented bites to other kids in home unknown age or circumstances.
• Management: For safety and comfort, they should be in an adult-only home where interaction can be calm, predictable, and structured.
Dog Introduction Required:
• Reason: Dog selective, seen in previous home with another male dog. Assertive and stiff with dogs at the shelter during playgroups, he did loosen up.
• Slow, Structured Introductions: Introductions must be gradual and carefully managed in neutral territory. Monitor all body language closely, and end sessions on a positive note.
• Muzzle Training: It is recommended to condition Alamo to a comfortable basket muzzle before introductions. This provides safety and allows for positive experiences during early meetings.
• No Dog Parks: Alamo should not attend dog parks or other uncontrolled environments. These settings can overwhelm or trigger negative interactions, making progress more difficult.
• Behaviors could improve with proper management and/or professional training.
