Bio: Santos Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez Barragán is a Mexican professional boxer. He’s one of the highest paid athletes in the world, with an estimated income of $870 million! We’d love to introduce you to another ginger who is not a fighter (and definitely isn’t a multi- millionaire), but who is a 100% top-tier lovebug!
Canelo recently spent a few days in a foster home where he was described as “a very good dog” and an independent, affectionate, couch potato who enjoys walks with his people. Canelo’s volunteer friend think he is pretty spectacular:
“Omgoodness, Canelo is so freaking cute I can barely stand it! He has the sweetest little face and ears; I cannot get over how freaking adorable he is! He is friendly and affectionate and allows volunteers to pet and love on him! He’s just a mellow, completely wonderful little cutie patootie!”
“Canelo is a great walking buddy. He was easy to leash and did a cute spin before getting leashed up. Canelo walks like a dog on a mission. That mission: getting to the next sniff spot, which he needs to investigate thoroughly. He's energetic and friendly and takes treats gently. At the end of the walk, he was easy to return to his kennel. He is a great boy.”
“Canelo is such a smart boy- I have been working on teaching him some tricks! He has a solid sit and down. He is learning to shake, crawl and roll over. He will sit and wait at gates and road crossings. He is getting good at leave it, sit, stay and come. He is a smart boy who is very treat motivated, so training has been fun and easy.”
Canelo shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He prefers female dog friends but would like to meet them prior to going home! He also should go to homes without small animals as he has high prey drive. Canelo deserves a loving forever home where he can be doted on!
