Bio: New Mexico is known as the “Land of Enchantment”, and we have a pretty enchanting pup named after our neighboring state! This handsome blue boy is calm, easygoing, sweet, and pretty much perfect! Here’s what volunteers at the shelter have said:
“New Mexico was very friendly and easy to leash up in his kennel. In the play yard he did a lap or two to explore but immediately came back to me for pets and snuggles. He is very treat-motivated and at one point found my treat pouch and put his whole snoot into it looking for goodies. His tail never stopped wagging and he has a funny little snorting sound that he makes. He loved getting neck scratches and would lean this way or that so I could get just the right spot, grunting and groaning the whole time. Very nice and easygoing dog!”
“What a super sweet dog. Had the honor of being with him in a play yard today. He took treats gently and knew ‘sit’. Friendly to all he met. Wanted to be near me for scratches and loves the whole time, literally! What a wonderful dog he is.”
“Fun, fun guy! New Mexico met me at the gate of the kennel, happy and ready to go. We leashed up and headed straight out. He enjoys sniffing and observing his environment. Once we sat at a park bench he hopped right up, sat down next to me and just wanted his face scratched. I got out treats and he took them very nicely. He's just so much fun to be around. We had an easy walk back to the kennel.”
“New Mexico is a lovely gentle boy. He seems to know his name, knows sit and takes treats gently. New Mexico is a casual loose leash walker and looks up at you for check ins every so often.”
New Mexico is also a day trip favorite who enjoys visits to Bark n’ Berry for a sweet treat and grabbing a burger with new friends:
“New Mexico loves cuddles and pets and is super laid back and mellow. He is food motivated and seems like a great family dog and is good with kids.”
“New Mexico is a really good boy! He hopped right in the car and was very excited at first, but settled fairly fast. He explored our home and backyard. He makes the cutest little snorts and snuffling noises when eating. He took multiple naps. He was calm and interested in all sorts of food. He seemed to enjoy brushing. He is a real cuddle-bug!”
New Mexico would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Prepare to be enchanted- ask to meet New Mexico today!!
