Bio: Mississippi is known as the birthplace of the blues, and if anyone has a reason to sing the blues, it’s a dog in the shelter! That isn’t our Mississippi’s style though- he’s a positive pooch who is optimistic that he’ll find his forever family soon!
Mississippi spent a month in a foster home- here’s what we learned:
- He’s quiet and well- behaved when left home alone
- He loves all toys
- He likes to sleep close to his people
- He’s a cuddly, sweet couch potato
Here’s what just a few of Mississippi’s many friends at the shelter have said:
“Mississippi was a great walking companion today! Very friendly and easy to leash in his kennel and had polite leash manners as we made our way through the park. He was not reactive to other dogs, enjoyed exploring his surroundings, and was friendly and affectionate with me. He has a perfect sit and takes treats gently. Handsome boy with a very nice personality!”
“Mississippi was very polite when I went in his kennel. He immediately sat down so I could leash him. He is very affectionate and loves to be petted. He knows sit and can catch treats, although he also takes them very gently from my hand.”
“Mississippi is a mellow fellow! He impressed me with both his leash and listening skills while on our walk. He calmly walked on a loose leash around the lake. He also knows sit and will patiently and politely wait for a treat. He is a very treat-motivated dog.”
“Mississippi is my very favorite boy and I don’t know why he’s been here so long. He’s friendly, happy, drool-ly, and takes treats very gently. He sits quickly on command and loves to be petted.”
Mississippi would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Don’t let the shelter blues get Mississippi down- ask to meet him today!!
