Bio: The name “Lyca” can be found in languages and cultures around the world! In Greek, Lykca comes from lykos (wolf), and it evokes strength, wilderness, and loyalty, sometimes interpreted as a "faithful protector". It is sometimes linked to the Swedish word lycka, which means "luck" or "happiness". We think that these beautifully rich linguistic origins of the name perfectly suit our lovely shepherd mix, Lyca!
Lyca lived in her former home for over two years before being surrendered to the shelter. Her former family told us that she is playful and affectionate, loves car rides, knows tricks, was house trained and was well- behaved when left home alone.
"Lyca is playful and loving. She acts silly and loves quality time. She would be best placed in a home with someone who is active as she has a lot of energy and loves to play ball!"
Volunteers at the shelter enjoy spending time with Lyca- here’s what one friend said:
“I've taken Lyca out quite a bit and she's pretty consistent. On walks, she's very energetic and a zig zagger. In a yard, she's very sweet and enjoys pets. She prefers to stay close to you.”
Lyca shares her kennel with another PACC pup and has been social and playful when meeting other dogs in playgroup. She’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit and is looking for a home without cats. If you’re looking for a bit of happiness wrapped in a gorgeous, floofy package, come meet Lyca today!
