About: Meet Bandit, a 1-year-old pup packed with fun energy and searching for a safe, secure home to call his own! Bandit is a total social butterfly who has done fantastic in shelter playgroups, enthusiastically initiating play and romping around with his canine buddies. On walks, he is a great partner who handles the leash well with just a slight, eager pull.
Because Bandit previously lived in a situation where he was allowed to roam freely, he got into some neighborhood trouble while exploring with other dogs—including chasing livestock and a bicycle, which resulted in a bite. To keep Bandit and his community safe, he requires a home with a secure, fully fenced yard and an owner committed to leash supervision outdoors. With proper containment, structure, and outlets for his playful puppy energy, Bandit is going to make a wonderful, fun-loving companion. Come meet Bandit today and see if he's the right match for you!

Available for adoption only through PACC.

Interested parties:
Must visit PACC before the COB MONDAY October 26th, 2026 deadline to meet with a counselor who will review notes and introduce you to the dog to ensure that it’s a good fit. Some dogs may also require an introduction to any dogs they may potentially live with.

Home Management Plan

Bite History:
• Incident Details: minor victim was on bike on the road, when a white/brown dog (at large) bit his right leg breaking skin, knocking him off his bike.

No Livestock:
• Bandit is not suitable for a home with livestock such as horses, goats, or other farm animals.
• Reason: chasing goats, pigs, horses, fatally injuring goat with other dogs

Prey Drive:
• Onyx may display chasing behaviors or pull toward small animals such as cats, rabbits, or wildlife while on walks. A confident, strong handler is recommended for safe management.
• Prey drive can be instinctual, breed-related, or a learned behavior reinforced by past experiences.
• Training and Management: Use a secure martingale collar or properly fitted harness during walks. Avoid off-leash areas where small animals may be present.
