Bio: Meet Panda!
This sweet 7-year-old gentleman has been thriving in foster care for the past year and is ready to find a patient, understanding home of his own. He may be shy at first and is easily startled by new people and situations, but once he decides you're his person, his loyal and affectionate personality shines through. He'll happily follow you from room to room, lean in for pets, and absolutely melts for a good butt scratch. He's a quiet companion most of the time, though he'll let you know when someone arrives at the door or walks past the house before settling down again.
He would do best in a calm home with an older or low-energy adopter who can help him continue building confidence at his own pace. While he did fine around a 2-year-old child, he'd be happiest with older children who understand how to respect his space since he can react out of fear when startled. He enjoys the company of other dogs and actually does best with a canine companion, especially when left home alone. In his current foster home, where he has dog friends and access to a dog door, he's relaxed, house-trained, and has had no accidents. He's also a wonderful walking buddy who strolls politely on leash and rarely pulls unless something frightens him.
This quirky little guy isn't interested in toys, but he loves keeping an eye on the neighborhood and spending time near the people he trusts. He sleeps happily on his dog bed but certainly wouldn't object to sharing yours! He's been eating Pedigree kibble in foster care and will need an adopter committed to his ongoing medical care, including future dental work, treatment for chronic ear infections, and regular grooming to maintain his thick coat. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will reward your patience with unwavering loyalty and quiet companionship, this special boy could be the perfect match.
