Bio: Rico is a kind, gentle, and loyal dog who has been thriving in foster care over the past two months. He has an easygoing personality and settles beautifully into a calm home environment, where he enjoys following his person around, relaxing nearby, and taking long cozy naps. Rico is truly a couch potato at heart and absolutely loves cuddles, belly rubs, and simply being close to his people. He is fully house-trained and does a great job communicating when he needs to go outside once he feels settled into a routine. Rico also does very well when left alone and has shown himself to be respectful and well-mannered in the home. He is not destructive, does not show signs of food aggression, and rarely barks, making him an especially easy companion to live with. Rico loves walks and gets genuinely excited when it is time to head out. In fact, his foster shared that he recently bounced in excited circles when asked if he wanted to go for a walk. He walks well on leash, is non-reactive, and although he is a strong walker, he does not pull excessively. He is quiet on walks and enjoys simply being out and about with his person. While Rico was not exposed to children, cats, or other dogs during foster care, he has consistently shown a calm, friendly, and affectionate temperament. He has not displayed fearfulness toward people, objects, or situations and has adapted wonderfully to home life. Rico enjoys milk bones, dental chews, and especially fish-based dry food. He also discovered a love for tennis balls during his time in foster care and has shown that he is intelligent and eager to learn new things. At night, Rico sleeps peacefully on a dog bed beside the bed, happy just being near his person. Overall, he is a sweet, loving companion who would thrive in a calm home where he can continue enjoying the simple things he loves most — walks, naps, affection, and being part of the family.
