Bio: Our pal Doug first came to the shelter back in late 2024, having been found stray and staying with his finder for about a week. At that time, Doug did well with nine-year-old kiddos, was house trained and was well- behaved when left home alone. He was described as friendly playful and smart:
“Doug is a playful dog. He enjoys playing and cuddles. He’s a fast learner and good listener.”
Doug recently spent a few weeks in a foster home with a family who said he was absolutely DELIGHTFUL! He was described as a goofy, loyal and sweet boy who was a great walking partner. He was house trained and did wonderfully when left alone at home. He enjoyed snoozing in his crate or on the sofa and chewing on rope toys, nubby balls, and antlers.
Doug is back at PACC and still on the search for his forever family. In the meantime, he’s acquired quite the fan club!
“I took Doug out for a walk today. When I sat on a bench, he came in close and enjoyed eating treats. He can both catch them and take them gently from my hand. He especially loves butt scritches!”
“Count me in as a member of the Doug fan club! He is an attentive, loose leash walker once you get away from the shelter and neighboring kennels. He would sweetly look up at me to check in from time to time while we walked, and he listened well. He has the best bat ears and wagging tail.”
“Doug is a wonderful walking companion. He is a nice loose-leash walker and very responsive to his handler. He sits for treats and is very treat motivated. Doug is a sweet, affectionate boy and I enjoy walking him!”
“Doug is a very happy boy! He wagged his whole body when I came to his kennel and smiled and wagged on our entire walk. When I sat on a bench he went into kitty cat mode and rubbed himself against my legs over and over. This guy is one friendly goofball. Sometimes as we walked along, he would just spontaneously do a happy jump.”
Doug would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Join the fan club- ask to meet Doug today!!
