Bio: Star is the kind of dog who makes you smile without even trying. She’s just 10 months old, but already has the heart and grit of a little warrior. After surviving distemper as a young pup, Star came out the other side with a bounce in her step—literally. One of her hind legs moves in a constant tap from nerve damage, but instead of slowing her down, it adds to her quirky charm. She trots around like she’s got a secret beat playing just for her, always ready to chase a toy, play with a dog friend, or curl up for a cuddle after a good romp.

She is house trained, crate trained, and learning to enjoy walks in new environments. Star is still a bit shy, especially with new people and unfamiliar situations. However, she finds comfort in her crate and gains confidence from routine and encouragement. She would do best with a calm, patient adopter who will support her continued growth with patient introductions to new experiences. Star is also a great candidate for confidence-building activities like urban agility or dog sports, which would help her feel more at ease in the world.

Star absolutely thrives with other dogs and loves to play. She is great with dogs of all sizes and especially enjoys wrestling and running in the yard. Her foster notes that she is a silly, affectionate dog who loves to cuddle but also benefits from building independence. The ideal home for Star will be one with calm adults, another playful dog, and opportunities to help her build confidence in new spaces. She has a gentle soul, a silly streak, and so much love to give. With the right home, Star will continue to shine and bring joy to everyone around her.
