Bio: You may have a friend or family member who you lovingly refer to as “Bubba.” This name is often used as a term of endearment for a beloved person- and in this case, a beloved dog. Bubba is a sweet, sensitive, and much-loved pup who is who is struggling here in the shelter.

Bubba lived in one home for his entire life before he was surrendered to the shelter when his family was no longer able to care for him. They said repeatedly that he was a loveable boy who just wants to be loved by his people. He spent most of his time outdoors, so he is looking for a family who will welcome him indoors and be patient with him as he learns good indoor doggy skills.

Here's what one volunteer said:

“Bubba is a super sensitive, sweet and courageous pup! He came to the shelter with his sister who has since left the shelter. This has been extremely hard on Bubba. He craves companionship and misses having a doggy friend to hang out with. I took him to a play yard this morning and he seemed like he would prefer a walk, so that's what we did! He is a lovely walker, he was a little zig-zaggy, but he walked with a loose leash the entire time. I would often find him walking rubbed up against my leg as we explored around the lake. He wasn't interested in treats, but he accepted neck and chin rubs. He's really hoping for a forever home where he can decompress and soak in all the love!”

Bubba has shared his kennel politely here in the shelter and has been easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He tends to take his cues from other dogs and may do well in a home with a friendly, confident pup to show him the ropes.

Bubba is experiencing shelter stress and has lost a significant amount of weight since his arrival. He needs a loving home where he can decompress and where his health, both physical and emotional, will be monitored. If you have room in your home and your heart for a resilient boy who’s looking for his happily furever after, come meet Bubba today!
