Bio: Meet Wilmot ??
6 years old • 60 pounds • Professional couch potato
Wilmot is the kind of dog who will steal your spot on the couch and your heart at the same time. This sweet, smart boy came to the shelter as a stray, but you’d never know it by how quickly he bonds with people and settles into a home.
He’s mostly house-trained, does wonderfully inside the house, and is happiest lounging nearby after a short walk or a good belly rub session. Wilmot has low-to-moderate energy and enjoys about two 15–20 minute walks a day. After that? Nap time.
He’s incredibly food motivated and very smart. He already knows “sit” and “shake,” and he’s currently working on “stay,” “lay down,” and taking treats politely. On walks, Wilmot does best with a harness and a little patience while he gets his sniffing wiggles out — he’s definitely a stubborn sniffer.
Wilmot loves:
• Belly rubs
• Cuddling
• Chew toys, ropes, and squeaky toys
• Puzzle toys and snack toys
• Zooming through the house in short bursts before immediately needing a nap
He’s curious about other dogs, but his compatibility with dogs, cats, and kids is still unknown. Small wildlife definitely catches his attention, so a home without small animals would likely be best.
His foster family describes him as lovable, lazy, affectionate, and extremely smart. He doesn’t chew things up or get destructive when left alone — he mostly just sleeps and waits for his people to come home.
If you look into Wilmot’s eyes, he’s clearly saying one thing:
“I love you.”
Wilmot would likely thrive in a calm, loving home where he can be spoiled with snacks, naps, cuddles, and a little continued training. He’s ready to be someone’s loyal best friend.
