Bio: She is housebroken and if she really has to use the restroom she is very vocal about it. She is very friendly while encountering other dogs while on walks. We have not yet seen her interact with cats or children. She is very good on the leash, she does not pull and she likes to look back to make sure we’re still walking with her. She knows commands such as sit, stay, and lay down. We do not know how she arrived at the shelter.
She is very affectionate and just loves to be around people. She likes to lean her body on you and sometimes even lay on you. She is not really into playing with toys but we’ve learned that a good bone or bully stick will keep her entertained. She is very easy going when it comes to activity. She is a couch potato who loves the occasional walk. She also loves to run a bit if there is a big field of grass. When I look into Dottie’s eyes I can tell that she is a dog who trusts people and who just wants to be loved. The best adjectives to describe her is affectionate and sleepy. I know that she is affectionate because she is constantly trying to be as close to people as possible in a loving way. Her best quality is how charming she is. People are constantly telling us how cute she is and she always goes and says hi to people. One thing about Dottie is she is very vocal when she feels something. For example she whines every time we pull out the leash simply because of how excited she is. My favorite physical characteristic is her adorable face. She has the cutest face and sometimes when she yawns her cheeks get stuck in her mouth and she looks so cute. The ideal home for Dottie would be a home where the owners can love her and spend some good time with her. I could see her in a home with some older, retired people because she would keep them company and they would keep her company. And she is not the most active so she is really easy going when it comes to going potty. One thing about Dottie is she does struggle with a bit of separation anxiety but it can definitely be improved with a little bit of training and practice.
