Kid & Cat Friendly, Smart, Blue-Eyed Beauty!
Meet Buttercup: The Striking, Sweet, & Smart "Shepsky"
The Basics
Breed: Gerberian Shepsky (German Shepherd / Husky Mix).
Personality: Gentle, independent, resilient, intelligent, and incredibly loyal.
Status: Currently in a loving foster home in NW SATX.
Why She’s a "Unicorn" Dog:
Buttercup is a rare find for families. She has spent the last six weeks in a busy household and has proven she is:
Kid-Friendly: She gets along wonderfully with children and is very gentle.
Cat-Tolerant: She’s lived with 3 resident cats and is doing well with them.
House-Trained: She has established a solid bathroom routine and is a polite houseguest.
Her Story:
Buttercup was significantly undernourished when she arrived at ACS. Since then, she has been thriving on a high-quality diet and gaining strength every day. She has a sleeker, Shepherd-style coat that is easier to maintain in the Texas heat than a traditional Husky's.
Health Note:
Buttercup has begun her heartworm treatment with a private vet. She needs a family willing to keep her activity low-impact (like short "sniffaris") for a while she finishes her recovery.
