Lapis' foster gave an amazing review:

"Hi there, Lapis's foster here

Wanted to give you a few updates on how she's doing. She's been pretty amazing so far.

She knows her name. We had three people try different names. As soon as she heard lapis from anyone she turned to listen.

She's definitely house broken. Zero accidents. Goes straight to the door and waits when she wants to go out. She has zero signs of any resource guarding including food and people. By the third meal she figured out she's fed second and in a specific spot so she just waits.

She takes cues about what she should do from my dog very well. I'll get mine to model the behavior I want once or twice and she just does it. They've had zero problems interacting. My dog set her personal space boundaries one time and she hasn't crossed them since.

She's gotten the cat seal off approval. I had to tell her to leave it one time and she's not bothered them since. At this point they approach her and she lets them interact at their own pace.

For a livestock guardian, she is incredibly affectionate. When either I or my daughter wake up in the morning she walks over and asks for pets. If we move to a different area of the house she'll come stand beside either of us and lean softly against us. If we're relaxing she'll come up and softly nudge our hand or give a kiss. When she's done she'll go relax somewhere else she can see us

Her protection instincts are definitely present. She always sits where she can see all the exits. She puts her self one body length ahead on walks.

Shes decent in lead. She doesn't really pull on lead. She just hasn't quite figured out how to match our pace yet. She's very easy to redirect

We took her out to eat on Monday. She acknowledged people but mostly just relaxed. I put her in a down and she just stayed watching what was going on. Another group brought a large lab in. They made eye contact before entering. I had her on a close lead and they walked past just fine. She was aware of the other dog but didn't react at all.

She's definitely starting to warm up and relax. She's going to be very adoptable."

Lapis is 84 pounds.
